Who We Are

LAUNCH is made of people like you.

Volunteers Make the World Go Round

Everything LAUNCH does is powered by people who care about their community. We all do that in our own way — whether it’s talking to our neighbors, speaking at City Council meetings in favor of good policy, serving on city boards or taking on a neighborhood beautification project.

What will you do?

Sign up for the newsletter and come to our regular meetings to find ways to get involved.

Our Mission

LAUNCH is the Longmont Alliance for Urbanism, Neighborhoods and Community Housing.

We are building the best version of Longmont: a city where people of all means can find a safe, affordable place to live; contribute to vibrant, community-rich neighborhoods; and thrive in an environmentally sustainable, fiscally secure city.

Officers

Drew Sorrells

Co-President

Drew is proud to be a lifelong Colorado Native and resident of Longmont since 2002. Drew sums up her philosophy this way: “Everyone in Longmont deserves a stable home with access to the outdoors, a foundation for well-being, and a pathway to the opportunities available in our community without housing costs limiting our ability to live and thrive.”

Shakeel Dalal

Co-President

The cost of housing is a choice. We can choose to make housing affordable for every Longmonter.

In addition to being the co-president of LAUNCH, Shakeel serves on the Board of Trustees of the Longmont Community Foundation and on the City of Longmont Police Review Board.

Warren Wang

Event Coordinator

Warren is a resident of Longmont for well over two decades. When he’s not volunteering his time for the city, he’s spamming his friend’s inboxes with cat videos. Here he is pal-ing it up with Savvy Sam, Longmont’s recycling mascot.

Dan Sorrells

Treasurer

Dan has been a Colorado resident for 30 years and a Longmont resident for nearly half that time. He is proud to call Longmont his home. His interest in promoting affordable and attainable housing comes from his study of real estate markets and how they can best be served by sustainable development – setting the conditions for everyone to succeed and thrive.

Taylor Wicklund

Policy Liaison

Born and raised in Longmont, and a second generation professional caretaker of Longmont’s plant ecosystem.

Taylor believes that Longmont needs all kinds of people to work as a city, and it has to be affordable for the makers, the fixers, the caretakers, the educators and city staff.
